Shilpi Sharma, PhD, CPsychol, AFBPsS, MISCP

Dr Sharma holds a doctorate in Psychology, with a research focus in Autism and is also a Chartered Member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.

Dr Sharma also has over a decade long teaching experience in universities and holds associate professor and research and innovation board member roles for two world-renowned institutions.

Dr Sharma published a peer-reviewed research article on diagnostic confusion between Asperger Syndrome and high-functioning autism, which contributed towards the DSMV revisions in the diagnostic criteria of autism. Additionally, she is the author of more than 20 research articles and book chapters and has about 200 citations so far.

She is also a trained psychometric assessor with an entry in the RQTU register of the British Psychological Society.

Dr Sharma has also worked for several different NHS trusts over the last 5 years, diagnosing Autism and ADHD and leading several neurodevelopmental services throughout the United Kingdom.

Dr Sharma is also a trained Cognitive Behaviour therapist and has a special interest in treating anxiety in adolescents and adults with autism.

Dr Sharma has completed 30 supervision hours and 200 hours of low intensity CBT clinical practice.

Dr Sharma is an ISCP accredited coach.

How it all started

Dr Sharma completed her Masters in study of children with special needs and conducted an in depth case study of a child with autism. This was in the year 2005 when very few scholars discussed autism.

After spending a year with this high functioning 8 years old autistic child, she started questioning some old school thoughts about social impairments in autism and was curious to research more about this very unique presentation in children. She published her Masters research, which led to a fully funded doctorate at University of Strathclyde in the year 2006. Dr Sharma has been teaching and researching autism since then.

Siobhain O’Riordan PhD is a chartered psychologist and chartered coaching psychologist, a chartered scientist, founder chair and a fellow of the International Society for Coaching Psychology (ISCP). She is a certified principal business psychologist of the Association for Business Psychology, a fellow of the International Stress Management Association UK, an associate fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), a member of the Association for Coaching and an honorary member of the Institute of Health Promotion and Education. Tanya Dhawan holds a Master of Commerce (M.Com), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Nursery Teacher Training (NTT), and a Customer Service Level 2 qualification. She has also completed specialist Early Years inclusion training with Dingley’s Promise.

She has experience in education administration and early years settings across the UK and internationally, with a strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and family-centred practice.
